PITTSBURGH, PA — “Vampire Weekend have [sic] announced a show to encourage people to vote in the upcoming US presidential election, taking place at a Pittsburgh college this weekend (October 4).
The event is a Free Voter Registration Concert sponsored by the Students for Barack Obama at Carnegie Melon University, and will be open to the public and all ages.
The purpose of the concert is to ensure that everyone who can vote in the upcoming election is registered and if they are already registered, that their current registration is correct and up-to-date to prevent disenfranchisement at the polls, says the band on their MySpace page.
